Those from 1754 onwards are recorded regularly in the marriage and banns registers.
Those from 1813-1900 are taken mainly from the baptism and burial registers.
Those from 1900 onwards are taken from the burial registers.
For these periods only the lists can be assumed to be essentially complete.
Some names have been added or expanded from 19th/early 20th century directories.
Of the vicars mentioned:
Talbot was not resident at Sussex.
Dixon resided at Newick (where also vicar).
Baynes resided at Fletching (where also first curate, then vicar).
Woodward resided at Fletching (where also first curate, vicar) and held other simultaneous benefices.
Constable, Symons, Gribbell & Moseley were all resident.
